The rugged character of the Casio G’zOne cell phone is underlined in the extreme sports documentary ‘Taming Alaska.’ The project follows extreme athletes Andy Finch and Justin Lamoureux as they journey through the Alaskan wilderness in search of virgin waves and first descents. Their ultimate goal is to capture the unique feat of riding fresh Alaskan powder and freezing Alaskan surf, in one perfect day.

In addition to the core pursuits of surfing and snowboarding the adventure includes ATV journeys through bear country and a chilling nautical voyage into the iceberg ridden heart of icy bay. The film is shot in and around the remote Alaskan town of Yakutat which offers outstanding surf and epic backcountry boarding set against the awe inspiring backdrop of the St. Elias mountain range.

The local Yakutat surf break is ominously entitled “Graveyard” due to its proximity to a native Tlingit Indian burial ground, the breaks foreboding moniker is merely compounded by the freezing waters and rocky coastline. The coastal location of the Sr. Elias mountain range dictates that heli-days are extremely limited as the area is often sat underneath a thick layer of fog. When the conditions do break the range opens up to provide a myriad of uncharted mountains.
